Code of Conduct

Admission and Attendance

  • Admissions are made in accordance with Periyar University regulations. Should university policies invalidate an admission, the college is not responsible.
  • College hours are from 9:50 AM to 3:50 PM.
  • Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance each semester to be eligible for university exams. Falling short may result in management-imposed consequences.
  • Study materials for all subjects are provided at the start of each semester. Students are expected to take photocopies as needed for reference.

Academic and Examination Regulations

  • Examination marks, tardiness, and leave records are communicated to parents.
  • Participation in two Internal Assessment Tests and one Model Examination is compulsory.
  • Students must bring the appropriate subject notebooks to both theory and practical classes.
  • Special classes may be held on non-working days or holidays as needed.

Dress Code and Discipline

  • Adherence to the college’s dress code is mandatory.
  • Proper grooming, including an acceptable haircut, is required. Bands, chains, and ropes are not allowed.
  • Wearing the college-issued Identity Card at all times on campus and in college buses is compulsory.
  • Male students must wear collar shirts and are prohibited from wearing caps or designer shirts.
  • Female students may only wear sarees or chudidars with shawls.

College Property and Lab Conduct

  • Equipment and laboratory apparatus must be handled carefully. Students must compensate for any damages.
  • Maintenance, breakage, and function fees must be paid along with the university examination fees.

Use of Mobile Phones and Conduct in College Premises

  • Mobile phones are strictly prohibited on campus. Confiscated phones will not be returned.
  • Students must avoid conflicts, external interference, or political involvement.
  • Entering classrooms other than their own, loitering, or gathering in corridors is not allowed.
  • Male and female students are restricted from sharing books, study materials, or food.
  • Any disrespect towards religious beliefs will result in disciplinary action.

Hostel and Transportation Rules

  • Hostel students may vacate only at the end of the academic year.
  • Leaving the campus without prior approval from the Principal is not allowed.
  • Students are responsible for their personal belongings; the college is not liable for any losses.
  • Outsiders may only meet students with prior permission from the Principal.
  • Ragging and eve-teasing will lead to legal consequences.
  • Students must use the designated bus routes and maintain discipline while traveling.

Financial and Administrative Regulations

  • Tuition and term fees must be paid promptly. Late payment will incur fines.
  • Fees paid are non-refundable.
  • Students discontinuing their studies must pay the full year’s fees.
  • Official receipts must be retained for future reference.

Final Authority

  • The college reserves the right to modify these rules without prior notice.
  • The Principal has the final authority to suspend students who violate any of these regulations, including suspension from classes, transportation, and hostel facilities.

Behavior and Social Media Policy

  • Only parents and students may meet the Principal, HOD, or Management for inquiries.
  • Violence, disruptions, or public disturbances will result in suspension without prior notice.
  • Day scholars are not allowed in hostel or mess areas.
  • Laboratory overcoats must be worn at all times.
  • Loitering in parking areas during class hours is not permitted.
  • Students must commute via college-provided transport or their personal vehicles; private buses and autos are not permitted.
  • Attending classmates’ family functions is discouraged.
  • Any change in contact information must be reported to the respective department.
  • All teaching and non-teaching staff must be treated with respect.
  • Reserving seats on college buses is not allowed.
  • Misguiding or spreading misinformation among peers is strictly prohibited.
  • Sharing any college-related information on social media platforms is forbidden and will result in suspension.
